Aluminum Fences

Durability: Aluminum fences are highly durable, resisting rust & corrosion ensuring they maintain their appearance and strength over time.

Low Maintenance: Unlike some types of fences that require staining & repairs over time aluminum fences require very little maintenance & usually just a good light hose or power wash cleaning.

Customization Options: With various heights, colors and optional decorative elements available, aluminum fences can be tailored to suit your specific preferences.

Minimum Privacy: Keep in mind that aluminum fencing will provide an attractive, low-maintenance barrier, but it does not provide privacy at all. So if it’s privacy you’re looking for, you may want to think twice before purchasing aluminum fencing.

Chain Link Fences

Cost-Effective: Chain-link fences offer excellent value for the security it provides.

Durability: Made from galvanized steel & many other color options chain link fences withstand weather and wear.

Security: The open design allows visibility while deterring unauthorized access.

Security:  While chain link fences can be built tall, and barbed wire or razor wire added to the top for security, that is typically done only in commercial & high security settings. Homeowners typically use a four-foot tall chain link fence which can easy be climbed.

Privacy: Chain link fences won’t keep prying eyes away. There are options for installing metal or plastic slats in the chain link fence to improve privacy including wind screens which adds to the total cost as well.

Vinyl Fences

Durability: Vinyl fences are highly durable and can withstand various weather conditions without warping, rotting, sagging or corroding.

Low Maintenance: Vinyl fences require very minimal upkeep – no sealing, painting or staining is needed. Cleaning with soap and water keeps them looking pristine.

Many Styles Available: Vinyl fences come in a wide range of styles, colors, and textures, allowing for customization to match your property’s aesthetic.

Privacy: Vinyl panels can be designed to provide excellent privacy, making them ideal for residential areas

Initial Cost: The initial cost of vinyl fencing is higher than some other fencing materials like wood, aluminum or chain-link.

Less Traditional Appearance: Some homeowners prefer the traditional look of wood fencing over the more modern appearance of vinyl fencing. However, the variety of styles available can help homeowners find a vinyl fence that matches their aesthetic preferences.

Potential for Damage: While vinyl fencing is durable, it can still be damaged by impact or extreme weather conditions like heavy winds or hail.

Wood Fences

Aesthetic Appeal: Customization – Eco-Friendly – Affordability – Durability

Privacy: Wood fences are an excellent way for homeowners to have privacy. The panels are thick and provide barrier that blocks noise while also reducing visibility. Since wood fences are available in various heights, this allows homeowners a choice of the desired level of privacy.

Cost-Effectiveness: Wood fences are a cost-effective option as the materials are very much readily available. In addition, the installation process is much quicker and straightforward, reducing the overall cost.

Maintenance: One drawback of wood fences is that they require constant maintenance to ensure that they remain in top condition. This includes nail pops, cleaning, staining, and sealing, which can be time-consuming and require significant effort & investment. Additionally, neglecting maintenance can cause a wood fence to deteriorate, reducing the fence’s lifespan very quickly.

Prone to Damage: Wood fences are prone to damage from various sources, including insects, rot & moisture. This can cause the wood to weaken, leading to structural damage and reducing the fence’s overall lifespan significantly. Additionally, wood fences are susceptible to warping & twisting which can cause the panels to become misaligned and compromise the fence’s aesthetics.

Not as Durable as Vinyl and Aluminum: While wood fences are durable, they are not as durable as vinyl and aluminum fences. Vinyl and aluminum are resistant to moisture, insect damage, twisting and warping, ensuring that the fence remains in top condition for many years to come. Also vinyl and aluminum fences require minimal maintenance, reducing the long-term cost of owning a fence.

Is it time to repair or replace your fence ?

CHECK FOR DAMAGE
When to Repair: If the damage is limited to a few posts or panels repair might be a better choice.

HOW LONG HAS THE FENCE BEEN INSTALLED?
When to Replace: If more than 30% of the fence is damaged or deteriorated, replacing the entire fence might be more cost-effective in the long run.

WHAT IS THE AGE OF THE FENCE?
When to Repair: A relatively new fence with localized damage is a good candidate for repairs.

When to Replace: An old fence nearing the end of its lifespan may not be worth repairing, especially if you find yourself constantly fixing different parts of it.

EVALUATE THE COSTS
When to Repair: If the repair costs are significantly lower than replacement and the rest of the fence is in good condition, repair may be the best financial decision.

When to Replace: When repair costs approach or exceed the cost of a new fence, replacement becomes a more sensible option.
